Early Political History
During The first political election of 0928, Julian Villanueva was called President and was replaced by Maximo Enardecido who became the mayor when WORLD WAR II broke out. The municipal government and townfolks evacuated to the mountains of Pangi, a village southwest of Poblacion and part of barangay GOMENTOC. The guerrilla movement was led by Capt. Eugenio “KUSGAN” Antonio, liberation came in October 1944.
